New Puppy

Hello there, I live in Los Angeles and have been an avide hiker for the past 15 years. I just got a new dog to be my hiking companion/protector from man & beast. In our mountains, we have the potential to come accross mnt lions, bears, coyotes. The now 10 weeks old female I got is a Catahoula Bulldog with a twist... 
Meaning her dad is performance American Bulldog, and her mom is half Catahoula, half Black Mouth cur.For those of you that know the breeds, would you say that was a good choice for the type of secluded hikes I do? Thanks
