new hunter (help)

hi i just started my 1 1/2 year old bluetick walker mix on coons he is my first hound! had him out with another hound the other night and my dog tracks great but i noticed that he is pointing and not striking when the other dog trees!!! he will run up to the tree the coon is in and just stand there with his tail pointed and just stare and whimper a little vary little!!!! any seggestions?

when you hunt with another dog ty it back a ways and let your pup tree he just hasnt got all his nerve up yet.Pet him up real good when he trees and after a few sessions like that he should be treeing good.Working with a caged coon at just above grabbing hight should help on the tree also.

cool thanx!! im taking him out again tonight! i dont have any traps yet and i dont know any one around here that dose!
