which stretchers do you prefer and why?

Wood for everything but rats. They cost more and take more time to put up but sure look nice when they are done and I think you make more from pelts thats been put up on wood. If your going to make them dont use plywood, do them right the first time Basswood, Pine or Cedar works great. Also if you are going to make them I would check all the web sites for size cause have seen more then a few that list boards that are to small.

I use wood on everything. Just remember to use a belly board.
