Anybody Have This Happen

I was going down the highway a week or so ago. The roads were clear before that morning, but on that morning it had been snowing for a bit. Roads weren't horrible by any means. I was traveling 50mph in a 55mph zone. I was in 4wheel drive following another car. We passed a sheriff and the prick pulled just ME over. Gave me a $287 ticket. Marked conditions on the ticket and that was it. Just happened to be the same POS that ran into my parked truck during the first storm we had this year. The drivers manuel states you must travel at a safe speed for the conditions. Who the hell gets to decide that and how are you supposed to know the exact speed you are supposed to go. I was traveling under the speed limit in 4wheel and not the only one going that speed. This POS was only going a few miles slower as well as many other cars.

go to D.O.T. or county who evre maintains that piece of road and ask to see the book that has mph on that rd almost every rd has one. Look up the rd marker on the ticket area where ur ticket was written and look for min & max speed limit if u find it go to court and so it or you can go to clerks office and tell them you want to I think tje word is contes the ticket it where you write what happend and provide all your evidence. Also go to weather channel or weather underground and print a copy of that day of the weather n time it happend. I have had plenty of my drivers walk away with no fine or points. The judge is more like to read and work with u in his chambers ur letter and evidence rather than try to give you a break in a court room full of other cases. Well good luck to you!

Thanks, that some good advice. Hopefully it will get dropped or the judge can work with me. I was just alittle bent out of shape over the whole thing. I try to obey the road laws and have a good driving record. Its more it going on my record than it is paying the fine.
