Starting a pup

What age do most of you guys start your pups on a live coon and how big of a coon

I start them on live coon as soon as they can find one. Until then just keep taking the pup to the woods. Remember if you can't find coon sign, how is the pup supposed to find a coon.

From the time i got both my dogs at 8 weeks the trainging starts. Walking the woods, hot dog drags, at 4-5 mo coon drags, and 6-months alot of night time outings. Takes alot of patience but my female was treeing at about 1.5 yrs and my male is two and due to lack of time in the last year hes just getting going on coon. good luck

As soon as they act like they want to play!
show them a coon and if they start playing its time.
Scout 8months Sassy 4months and Rocksee 6months
Little Storm here is just 16 weeks old on this night, we had a warm spell and I knew it would be a short hunt so I brought her along. She had been running with the older dogs around the place and keeping up with them so I thought she could handle a quick short hunt.
Just remember to not except a whole lot out of them at a younger age and make it as fun for them as possible with no bad experiences.
