that depends on the dog, I have a plott with a pile of speed and she can run with the slow ones for about three hours. It seems then her spirit is broke and she wants to quit. She can outrun most bear hounds all day and will run all day with tree hounds if they can keep up. Put her in with a little faster running dogs and she is in a different zip code after the first hour. put her in with fast dogs and she stands at the road and listens to the race. A lot of tree dogs can run with an average running dog for a while, but the extra speed they need to keep up breaks them down and breaks their spirit. Run them together on a regular basis and you may get them to quit altogether. I am not badmouthing tree dogs but do think they should be used separately or in the way they were bred to run. I dont see too many tree hounds running at the dog tracks, or running dogs either. not saying they cant do it but would say run with dogs of comparable speed, a pack of dogs that cant stay packed is not an efficient pack. Dont matter what kind of dogs they are
