Does anyone run this breed? What are they like? Do they bay or chop?
Any information would be great.

most of the few good hunting lines are silent on track and maybe too gritty for their own good. mostly they'll sight tree if they tree at all. but in the bay & on a walking bear they'll bite for real not just pull fur. they wind well & will burn up a hot track. they could be useful as PART of a good PACK, but unless you have a ton of bear you'll want more nose somewhere.

Yes, I run 3 with my bear dogs.
However we typically hunt hogs & bears with the same dogs....
Having been run with hounds most od their life my dogs do chop or chirp on a hot track.
Fortunately, when you hear that cur dog chop, it's near over.
The problem I have seen with these curs on an all day walking bear is that at some point they will come find me such to help me find my way. When they do, they will pull younger hounds out with them.....
I have seen this, and cussed them for it only to put back in after all the hounds have quit and catch the bear, almost like they savvy impropper english!!!!!

As for cats, I would say that most do not have the nose or desire for such faint scent.
Now that's not to say that they wont, but mine typically fall out.

Wow i thought maybe i had screwed mine up by working her on cows as a pup thats why she would stay close between me and the hounds, but guess its in there blood. She will burn up a hot coon and beat some of the hounds there though.
