Where was the CHC Today?

First thing, my CHC membership dropped in January and I literally don't have the extra 20 bucks to renew but work is picking up and I plan to renew. Maybe. Today I went to the Fish and Game Commission meeting in Folsom to speak about raising the annual bear take to 2000. Gas is $4.05 and I live in El Dorado County outside of Placerville. The Sierra Club was there, the Humane Society of the United States sent Jennifer Fearing, and let me tell you this bitch is slick. She and her 1.3 MILLION HSUS members are out to destroy our way of life. COHA was there. Wilderness Unlimited was there. So where the hell was someone, anyone, from CHC? I know people have jobs and times are tough but I passed up a days work to be there and stand in front of the Commission (I hate public speaking) and support the proposal. CHC's new leadership needs to get on the ball, update the website, and dammit GET IN THE FIGHT!
They can keep me and my hounds out of the woods when they pry the leash from
my cold, dead hands. -Pete .

Pete,
So where the hell was someone, anyone, from CHC?
CHC intentionally did not testify. In the future, when you want to understand the motivations behind CHC's actions, try asking someone from CHC directly.

Dale,
if I remember right they pay to have it updated
No, you don't remember right. CHC does not pay to have it updated. It was created and is managed by a volunteer on his own time.

Really? You don't join because you thought that the organization contracts out for website services? Give me a break. Now that you have been informed that it is not paid for, but rather, provided by a volunteer, logic would dictate that CHC can count on your membership.
Until you do join, everyone else's money goes directly into protecting and promoting hound hunting.

That reminds me, Need to send my check in to update my membership.
Lots of good, smart people at the CHC helping to keep houndsman alive in this state. We need all the help we can get.

I also would like to know why no one would attend that meeting on purpose. It seems like an important issue. I don't know if i am missing something but why would i join if i feel they are ignoring important issues and meetings on purpose.

What straight answers are you wanting? How, exactly, have you tried?

The way I see this is if CHC does anything, and I mean anything, to fight for houndsmen then it was worth the twenty five bucks a year to join. Rifleman, I'm a member and have no idea who you are but thanks for what you do and good luck.
