Folks, Don't do like washington (I include myself here) and sit back quietly thinking it will make it through the final steps...

The Washington house Passed a Permanent version earlier, So when the watered down senate bill came through I thought it would pass no problem since it was an easier bill... (WRONG) I emailed a quick note to my local reps asking them to support it and they assured me they would have, However it was never brought up on the floor for a vote and died.. Make sure your calling the leaders of the House and Senate asking them to bring it up to Vote. Not just your local rep's asking for support.. Because they are the ones that control what comes up for vote and what doesn't.... That was an expensive lesson for me and my washington friends personally. there are many ways that this can die off..

Anyways..

Best to get on the phones and call at EVERY Single step along the way...

I'll try and get this info put into the OUSDA newsletter for folks.

Buddy

Well I made some calls and sent some emails hopefully it helped, however Rep. Wayne Kreiger is a friend of ours and my wife spoke with his wife yesterday and she feels that the bill will most likely go to the Senate and die. Unfortunately I think it will take someone important to lose a beloved pet or even a loved one in order for this to take place. I sincerely hope I am wrong.

OHA will have a FIT if this fails.

We had our last Dog Advisory Group meeting on Monday. I will get you all updated as soon as I get the public draft. It is a big plus for us but we need to be mindful of land management changes from here on out.

Thank Mike, Marshal and everyone else who took the time to make calls and send emails.

Don

you are correct...45-14, now moving on to the senate....thanks for the update marshall...this was tight with this law being a measure 11 issue.....we needed 40 votes in the house to advance this legislation....five to spare....maybe marshall can paste and post the senate contact e-mail addresses and lets get busy....thanks.....mike

Well I sure hope it does go all the way and passes, I never had a chance myself to hunt back before the ban and I would like to see it be legal again in my lifetime.

For those Rural Guys out there, It would also Be helpful to Get you Local government involved (county Commissioners), That's how the Washington Pilot program really got off the ground, it was the county commissioners that finally pushed it over the edge!.

We need the Votes in the senate, But If you can get your county commissioners to make a call into their Senator.. that's is worth allot of Phone calls.

Glad to hear things are finally moving somewhere, Hopefully the momentum keep building.
