I used a 1 gal plastic paint bucket and affixed the lip and about 2 inches of the bucket to the hole. If it starts raining hard or I want to close the holes I just put the lids on.

Here is a pic of my atv box with the bucket lips in the holes. It also makes a smooth surface for their heads when sticking out and the lids pop right on if you want them closed.

Houndcrazy93. I made it out of 1/2" plywood. Its not fancy aluminum like some but works great for me. Plus it only cost about $75 total with the hardware and herculiner. The dimensions are. 18"w x 40"L x 24"H. I ripped down some 2x4s to make the inside frame for strength. Let me know if you have any questions.
