Here is your opportunity to hear MY opinions on Mountain Lions. I am sure the Dawg will be all ears so he can finally know 1st hand my stance and stop making up false stories.

Unfortunately I'll be in a gym all day watching my girls in a Dance competition but I'm sure I'll miss a good time!

And if you have changed your stance on lions since the Monster Muleys days then good for you. But I know how you felt about them back then, and no doubt Kevin hasn't forgotten either. But if you have changed your tune since then I probably owe you an apology. If you haven't, I stand by everything I said. :D

I hope it goes well and some benefit comes out of it. But starting here in about an hour my weekend will be shot to hell in a 2 day Dance competition. Gotta go see first hand what all this money I'm spending every month is paying for.

I'm sure I'll hear about it after and it sounds like fun! Keep Black Eye on topic and don't let him get off on his favorite subjects: Beer, slutty girls and Bull riding. Keep it civil and don't get too wound up. At the end of the day it's just deer and lions and no matter what we agree on or don't agree on, both will probably still be around long after we are gone.

Hope it goes well and both sides agree it was a good thing. If not, at least you tried. But I'm sure we all agree that whatever we are doing in Utah doesn't seem to be working. Maybe this will be the beginning of something good.

Or maybe it will just be an excuse for Black Eye to get out of his double wide and spend a couple hours in the big city seeing what pavement looks like. ;) Have fun boys and let me know when I can buy the DVD.

If I can sneak out for a bit I'll try to call in. I got a story about rigging lions to tell on the air.

well, that was interesting. tony has some good data and some decent opinions. a couple things from my opinion, our harvest check in system: we have 48 hrs to check in lions but why shouldn't we have to report them by phone the same day we kill them? that could solve a lot of problems with overkill. also the problem I see with tonies theory of starting the harvest in january is that we all know those toms kinda diasapear through jan feb and come march, april, may they magically appear so I dissagree that that would give us more oppertunity. in theory it would, but as houndsmen we know that the toms just aren't as prevalent in january febuary. all in all I thank the hound guys that represented us on the show. tonie didn't give them a lot of rebuttle, but it kept things civilized and professional. definately worth listening to.

I felt the radio show went good... I definately do not agree with moveing the split date back into january if anything I would like to see it moved to april..we fought really hard to get it moved to march.. I also think all split units should go back to limited entry only......it wouldn't bother me to see the dwr use the new deer units as lion units and manage both species accordingly .....with a difinate female sub quota on each unit...... the biggest thing we face here in utah is the dwr will not face the fact that we can have a stable manageable lion population in the state.....they are selling over 1,000 lion tags every year between limted entry and harvest objective, this goes to show with harvest data that we don't have as many lions as the dwr says we do or harvest data would reflect it.

Thanks to the Houndsmen Association and fellow Houndsmen for coming in studio today and discussing lion management. It is a give and take world, and if the houndsmen want a better lion population they need to learn the process we are stuck with and then implement the changes NEEDED. There is a time and place for both deer and lions and the health of one corresponds directly with the health of the other.

Thanks again to you for what you do for the species you love and I wish you all the best. My show is available anytime to get out your word.

Well, the show sure did not go the way I thought it would. I figured there would be people calling in, and saying we were just some dumb ole hound guys. It was very civil and the discussion during the breaks was very constructive.

Black Eye, Bplott, and walker83 were well prepared, and added some great comments. I definitely was the dumb one of the bunch.

Hopefully the listening audience got some information to ponder on.

I sure thought it went good.

I was not able to listen to the radio show today. I couldn't get reception where I was, but I would like to thank those that went in and stood up for our sport and way of life. Sounds like something good has come out of this.
