Hey guys I found out there's been a coon living at my mom in laws house for a while now. So I decided I wanna catch it live preferably so I can train my pups. So my question is what is the best bait that you have found out to catch them quickly?

The best bait in the world is marshmellows the jumbo ones I've caught more coons with them than anything. I promise u will catch him. Make a little trail starting about 1 foot from the trap use small pieces leading in then trow 3 or 4 in the back and ull get him forsure works everytime! Let me know when u catch him. If u use raw meat it will stink to high heaven. Good luck dude!

When you do catch a skunk how do you release it? I live in the city so I can't shoot it. Any suggestions will help.

If u catch a skunk u will need a thick towl or a jacket that u never plan to wear again. Throw it over the trap, open the door and get the hell back! It will eventually run out. Try not to get sprayd. Tomato juice baths are not that pleasent but it beats smelling like a skunk. Hope I helped, good luck!

If you do get sprayed by a Skunk I would leave the tomato juice in the store it works ok but not as good as this.
Skunk Odor Removal
Mix all ingredients together in a plastic bucket;

1 quart hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda
1 teaspoon liquid dishsoap

Use a sponge or cloth to wipe the animal, can do the inside of the mouth but KEEP OUT OF THE EYES! Mix as needed, doesn't store well after mixing

If you have water near by when you catch a skunk that will cover the whole trap just drop the whole cage in and leave it for about 5-10 min. I never turn skunks back out they are the number one carrier of rabies. If you walk up to the trap very slow and cover it with a trash bag, then slowly pick up the trap and slide it into the water. After its all said and done if you dont trap and keep the pelt I would drop the skunk off to be tested by your local Health Department.

As for bait to catch coons as said before any type of fish works great. They also love sweet things, but so do skunks, But skunks dont climb 99% of the time so if you place the trap up off the ground like on a table or chair or in a tree you will save yourself lots of trouble.

Believe it or not, dog handlers use douche.
We have used it when checking buses for drugs and after two washes with it, it hardly raised an eyebrow and is gentle enough on the dogs skin.
I believe it's the vinegar in it.
Of course some of these buses were the midnight runs with some strange folks on it.
The packets are small and easily stored in with your other gear.
I don't run around with it in my gear, I'm just saying....

pretty close to the mark there... I always used 2 tablespoons of dish soap

It has got me back in the house more than once Oh ask Larry Morgan if it worked at Tuscumbia MO....
use the tomato juice to mix with some Bud while you let the mixture set for 5 minutes.(after you rub it on...) then wash off with water

IF YOU GET YOU A OLD BLANKET YOU CAN WALK UP TO THE TRAP PUT IT OVER IT ROLL THE TRAP UP IN IT AND DO WHAT EVER YOU WANT WITH THEM AND THEY WONT SPRAY I HAVE MOVED THEM OVER 20 MILES IN THE BACK OF MY TRUCK AND NEVER HAD ONE SPRAY. I DID NOT BELIVE THAT THIS WORKED WHEN I WAS FRIST TOLD ABOUT IT BUT I HAVE BEEN DOING IT FOR A ROUND SEVEN YEARS NOW AND ITS WORKING.

I have had really good luck with putting some marshmellos in an empty tuna can and drizzling some honey on top.

I use marshmallows, any other fish or meat bait and it will be hard to keep the house cats out. If you catch a skunk, just tarp up the trap tight and get a 4" piece of hose and put one end under the tarp and the other over your exaust pipe. Wait 15 mins. and no more skunk. Don't use a diesel truck, it takes way too long.
