Nope they all suck. You should get rid of him. You can give him to me so you can make room for a good dog. Try a redbone I heard they are great.

the nance lines are your big game cat lines the other lines i dont know too much on

Little Rounder
old Nance topper ,The Nance blood of today sure makes some nice biggame dogs, but they are not near as tough a dog physically or mentaly as those old Joker bred dogs like old Ace, Hank and Cindy. I sure do like it Seems to me that old Nance blood was a big part of these old southwestern dry ground hounds.

Topper Again, was sired by Hussy's Hunter and dam was Holt's Tazzie
Nance's Little Topper
House's Bawlie-1963 ACHA Dual World Champion House's Bawlie
Finley River Chief -Nite Champion Finley River: Chief FINLEY RIVER CHIEF strain to and to the attention of the public. The next year in 1966 a grandson of Finley River Chief won the 1966 ACHA World Championship, The late W.F. (Bill) Derden and Ch.Nt.Ch. Can Win Dandee, a son of Nt.Ch. Finley River Chief and a litter mate to Can Win Jude 1965

Joker was a son of Nance's little Topper,
White River King, White River Boone, White River Rowdy. These dogs would be the foundation for the strain called NANCE or WHITE RIVER

Indy ...good coon dog never made it to the big woods Rowdy... very good all around dog. good nose. did some nice work on mt.lion when she got her chances would have been a leader in any pack.never bear hunted. Star (Jane) was rowdy's littermate sister and a great coondog. Gordon's Mojo... didn't get her chance on big game 'til after 6yrs old and wouldn't run lion but made a nice beardog. I hunted several times with Cord and thought him to be one of the best trailhounds on coon that I have seen. Sackett Jr.(jay) what a great reproducer of good dogs . I have no douts that Lester would have also used him in his breeding program. TG

There is not a dog alive with white river king in a 3 generation ped. Didnt meen to come off wrong just stating a fact. As for Nance breed dogs there are a few (true) ones left that are decendents of Lesters hounds, in the biggame world yet but because of the time span it is impossible to find any with Lesters first registered dogs up very close. If you want to get as close as you can to Nance stuff, you will generally have to go through the Morosak hounds. I have always felt that real Nance bred hounds was the only way to stay away from the hotnosed competion hounds, IE. Nailor, Lipper, Sacket jr.etc.

Jeff Allen old strain walker dogs

Leon Cox's dogs.

Merlin(Milt) Holt

Jack Butler Utah's famous lion hunter

( LEON COX AND MERLIN HOLT WERE BOTH INTERN LION HUNTING GUIDES FOR JACK BUTLER UTAH'S MOST FAMOUS LION HUNTER AS HE GOT OLDER. THEY BOTH ACCOMPANIED HIM ON HIS LAST EVER LION HUNT. THEY AS WELL AS GARN BLACKBURN GOT DOGS FROM HIS ORIGINAL MIXED STRAIN, BUT AS THIS STRAIN BEGAN TO WEAKEN THRU TOO MUCH INTENSE IN-BREEDING THEY SOUGHT OUT CHARLIE TANT A FORMER CALIFORNIA LION HUNTER WHO HAD RAISED UP A STRAIN OF FLAG TAILED RUNNING WALKER CROSS DOGS THAT WORKED WELL ON DRY GROUND. BY INFUSING THE BLOOD OF GOMER AND FESTUS WITH THE HELP OF NEVADA'S JERRY HUGHES THEY BUILT UP A STRAIN OF WALKER TYPE DOGS THAT CAME SPOTTED MOSTLY WITH EVEN SOME LEMON AND WHITE COLORED DOGS WHICH DENOTED THE RUNNING WALKER BLOOD.THESE DOGS HAD NOSE AND SPEED BUT LACKED SOME IN THE TREEING DEPARTMENT. THEY CONTACTED LESTER NANCE IF INDIANNA WHO WAS THE ORGINATOR OF THE TREEING WALKER BREED. LESTER STARTED WITH GRADE DOGS AND BY CAREFUL SELECTION FOR TREEEING INSTINCE AND EXTREME NOSE CAME UP WITH A LINE IF WALKERS KNOW AS THE NANCE STRAIN THAT SET THE HOUND DOG WORLD IN A SPIN. EVEN TODAY CAREFULLY SELECTED AND MATCHED NANCE BRED WALKER DOGS CAN COMPETE WITH THE BEST OF THE OLD TIME STRAINS ON DRY GROUND AND USUALLY RUN OFF AND LEAVE THEM WHEN THE TRACK WARMS UP. JOKER WAS A PRODUCT OF A LONG LINE OF LESTER'S ORIGINAL STOCK. HE REALLY CROSSED WELL WITH THE SOUTHERN UTAH STRAIN AND MANY OF THE PACKS TODAY CAN TRACE BACK TO THE IS BLOOD INCLUDING THE EARLY DOGS OF JEFF ALLEN. NOTHING LASTS AS IT IS FOR EVER AND JEFF AS WELL AS OTHER DECIDED THEY NEEDED TO SEARCH AND FINE THE BEST OF THE LIVING LINE BRED NANCE LITTE TOPPER DOGS LEFT TO BREED BACK INTO THEIR, STRAIN. tOPPER AGAIN WAS A VERY GOOD SELECTED SIRE WHO PRODUCED SOME VERY GOOD HOUND. CENTER FIRE SAMPSON OWNED BY DEAN LIMON OF BLANDING HOWEVER CLOSELY RELATED TO TOPPER AGAIN BUT WITH ONE IN-CROSS THAT MAKES HIM A LITTLE STRONGER ON THE NANCE'S LITTE TOPPER LINE HAS PROVEN TO BE A BETTER PRODUCER ESPECIALLY WHEN CROSSEED ON SELECTED LINE BREED NANCE FEMALES . STEVEN GALENTINE OF CALIFORNIA A MASTER WILDLIFE BIOLOGIST AND WS LION HUNTER NOW HAS THE MOST CONSISTANT STRAIN OF NANCE WALKER DOGS IN THE NATION WITH MOST PUPS RUNNING AND TREEING WELL BEFORE 10 WEEKS OF AGE. MR. GALENTINE ALONG WITH HIS HELPERS MIKE LEONARD OF NEW MEXICO AND JOSH WELCH OF UTAH HAVE PROVEN THESE DOGS IN VARIED TERRAINS AND CONDITIONS AND PROVEN THEM TO BE AMONG THE BEST OF TODAYS HOUNDS FOR DRY GROUND LION AND BOBCAT HUNTING.

jOE hOUSE AND jOHN mONROE WERE EARLY FOUNDATION TREEING WALKER BREEDERS WHO DEVELPED STRAINS THAT ARE ALSO THE BASISI OF MOST OF THE TOP COMPETITION WINNING DOGS TODAY. mONROE'S fINLEY rIVER STRAIN AND joe hopuses house strain along with james merchants merchant strain can be found along with the earlier nance strains in every treeing walker dog alive if one goes back far enough.

marvin glenn a great friend of mine and the father of warner glenn was hunting mostly grade lion hounds along the border until 1959 when walt disney asked him to helpe make a movie called the wetback hound. in this film a registered treeing walker pup was used as the star. marvein fell in love with the intelligent easily trained walker pup and wanted to buy him when the movie was completed. although disney would not sell the pup he id let marvin see the papers and immediatly marvein called lester nance , joe house, and jon monroe and ordered pups . these foundation dogs are what hi son warner's pack is still made of today. warner likes to have at least fifty percent nance influenece in the dogs to keep the size don and the cold trailing ability in tacvt.
Hope this has answered a few questions. Mike
hope thisd

Charlie Tant the famous California lion hunter. Charlies last two great dogs Gomer and Festus out of Little Rounder were purchased by
Leon and Jerry Hughes of Nevada.
Lester Nance of Indiana.
Marvin Glenn of Arizona( Warner's Father)
Joe House & John Monroe and started his strain of walker big game dogs.
Jeff's Old Hank, Sam Ray's Tick dog,
Mike Leonard's old Big Nosed Kate)
Some of the most famous dogs out of Hank also came from a single black female that originally came from Stan Meacham she was rumored to be part bluetick and some bloodhound

I have a batch of puppy's out of Jeff Allen's old nance walker line
any information would help me out tremendous thank you n advance robert

this is what ive found so far the pedigree on my pups so far from the studs side

Some of the old great blood is great I would like to have a son or grandson to Chief. In three or four generation a dog can be totally different than the big names that people through around. A dog has to prove it in the woods before the names make a difference. Good luck with him. Dewey
