kind of an off subject, Turtles question.

I have a Hoop trap and its Trapping season, but i dont know exactly how to set the damn thing. any one that does? could use some advice, Thanks.

Nope. Best method. Just try to catch Anything else on a rod
always works for me! Good luck is this a round trap by chance? My. Grandpa Used barrels with mesh and road kill I don't remember the specifics except he had to cook them in the bunkhouse cause mom wouldn't let them in her kitchen.

Yeah, its a mesh trap thats the size of a 55gal drum when opened. I believe it is just staked tight on both ends keeping the hoop out of the water high enough for a turtle to breath, with bait inside. Supposed to work great for catching snappers, but what do i know
