308 Savage Bolt. Accu Trigger. Accurate gun.

1. What optics are favored by you and recommended for shots out to 800 meters?

2. What is their ease of use in calculating elevation and wind?

(Hope to also do some pronghorn hunting with my 7mm if my shooting improves.)

This is my choice for any Long Range Shooting, especially in a hunting situation.

Ive yet to shoot at these distances. Please tell me what it takes to be competitive and any tricks of the trade to help me out.

Thanks

Boarhunter,

I think if you will take Shorty's advice and sign up with Gunwerks for their newsletters and dvd's it will be a real eye opener. Oh by the way you will most likley get to see our very own Shorty on there making some tremendous long range shots!

Nightforce, USO, Schmidt and Bender. Don't buy into preset reticles or custom turrets. They are only good for one set of conditions. If the temp, elevation, altitude change, your dope changes so a good MOA or MIL dial is needed.
