I think what YotaDawger meant by, depends on what your looking for.. is..
are you talking bear dogs? Or bobcat dogs? Lion dogs? or straight coon dogs?
Because if I'm a straight coon hunter, the lines are going to be different then if I'm running bobcats.. and I probably would have something different in bloodlines if I'm a bear hunter...
So are you looking at something specific or just in general?

I've always had good luck with Lipper/Bozo (thru Coma, Clover and Patch) bred dogs. The older line I'm working on from in my family is mostly local bred, but goes back to old Hershberger breeding. They make the better beardogs for me. Most of them actually are a little lacking in the cooning department.
I haven't had any luck with Nailor, Harry or Scakett in my dogs. This gyp I have out of Renegade is the only dog I've owned and liked with some of that breeding behind her. But in my experiance, Renegade, and Trinity are both more like Coma dogs. I bred Aspen to Renegade because he was almost identical in style.

I only hunt bear, and I run mostly blueticks, I have Smokey River/Utchman, Smokey River/Utchman/Vaughn, Cameron/Smokey River. All of the above hounds seem to really get it done for me.

I run mostly coons here in Wa. I have a grade dog pack and a registered pack. My Reg. dogs have finely river, stylish, and tar rattler. My grade dogs are some home brewed Matlock special's. The grade dogs dont tree like my comp. dogs but they are smaller and faster. I'm still experimenting with the two packs. After I get a couple litters on the ground I'll know more of what direction I want to go.
