I know a few of you guys drive older 80's and early 90's Toyota pickups. Do any of you have trouble finding parts for them? Been searching for an alternator bracket for the one I drive and none of the wrecking yards here in WY have any. Toyota wants $180 for a new one! Where do you guys find parts for yours? Do any of you know if a universal alternator bracket would work on this truck? It is an 87 with a 4 cylinder R22 engine.

Just got one. The parts guy at Foss Motors in Casper was a real sweetheart and made some calls,said it wasn't easy, but he found me one in Denver at a wrecking yard and it only cost me $15.00 plus shipping. Said that the older 22R engines are obsolete so getting parts like this for them is really hard. Hope I can make some good money this hunting season and buy another Dodge.

I hunt with a guy who has a shop full of yotas . His place is like a graveyard for them . You know which ones run cause they have dog boxes in them . Let me know if you need anything else .

The place in Denver is called the Yota Yard. Don't have thier phone number but they have lots of trucks there.

Thanks Good to know, cause this old truck has taken a beating and needs a few things. That alternator brackett snapped in half yesterday when I was on the mtn. Made it home from Ten Sleep, but don't want to drive it till the new one is on it.

Power??? I had a V10 Dodge and now driving a 4 cylinder Toyota that I have to go up the mountain in 1st gear, sometimes low range if it gets kinda steep. I am lucky to push 45 MPH on the grade going into Sheridan in 3rd gear. Power and Toyota don't go together in my mind. I will have to say this though, that little Toyota will go some places and is double tough, but going from a fully loaded 98 Dodge 3/4 ton to a 87 Toyota that has no options took some time to get used to. I think I am ready to upgrade again.

I'm running basically the same thing! A Cummins and a stock 87 turbo pickup. The parts are kind of hard to find because lots of people build crawlers out of them, so when there's something cheap or broken down they take it.
