radios for hunting

I'm thinkin about getting a radio for hunting. What should I get dont now any thing about them marine radio is what I have herd are popular or vhf. Would like some insight on what to get. Brand, antana, ext....

cobra and hummingbird marine band work good but i hear they burn up your garmin when used at the same time

good quetion i'm old and ain;t never used a tracker yet fixin to get one of the beep beeps does just a regular cb interfere with the trackers or somethin along that line is why you use the marine radios ??

you can get a uniden or cobra 25 watt marine radio at any bass pro or cabelas for just under $100, sometimes you can get them off ebay cheaper, then you can get a magnet mount antenna from your local radio shop for around 40-50. A marine radio wont interfere with a telementry tracking system unless you have the antennas to close together , I have mine 10 inches apart and never had a problem. I don't use the garmin gps systems so im not familiar with that problem

check your rules some places dont allow marine band

check craigs list or e-BAY the goverment agencies and fire and rescue squads changed to a new frequency you can get some good like new vhf radios at reasonable prices then you just take in to get programed to freq you want

From what I've researched, it's illegal to use them anywhere but on water. But I don't think it's really going to be a big deal if you're not near a major water body (ie ocean)!
