Went cat hunting last night! jumped a cat I ran about 2 months ago. basicly the same weather conditions. It rained about 12:00 noon about a half inch, went hunting about dark, the sun had burned off the moisture, jumped the cat and for about 25 min they ran the starch out of him. I could tell just as good the dogs were getting hot even though it was 69 degrees. there was no water on the bushes at all. Im fully convinced that water on the bushes helps keep those dogs cooled down more than I use to think. when the dogs came out they wanted water bad. Didnot think I would ever get them cooled down. I have caught cats in hotter temps with dew on the bushes and the dogs didnot get as hot. Well need less to say this cat is still there for another hunt. He better watch out because one of these days im going to jump him when the odds are in my favor. so watch out pussycat I will be back.

least you can hunt cat at night there. in minnesota I can only run them during daylight hours. and we dont have a training season either so that kinda stinks too. round here I have quite a bit of water so when it gets hot, I see on my garmin, that the hounds will stop for a minute in a creek to cool down then off they go again. but I dont run when it gets much over 65.

if folks down south did that they wouldn't run at all in some places.
