go to ozziedoggers (australian pig hunting forum) they use a lot more true crossbreds than we do here. we think it's a bigdeal to cross a walker & bluetick, but it really isn't because they are both hounds.
i dare say they'll be little buzzsaws and fair running catchdogs. may run a hot track on their own as well.

it might work out, be the two blue heelers we have owned were always out of control, full blast, and would bite in a heartbeat- human or game, so a heeler with that kind of temperment would be wicked with a pitbull bite.

bulldogs (including pittys) don't bite any harder than any other dog they just don't let go. in fact in my limited experience (stops to look at fading scars) german sheperds bite harder but they break easier

That cross would most likley produce some type of Catch dog.

I have herd of heeler crosses being used to produce But dogs because as the name implies the prefer to work the REAR of a animal as they herd.

I have never had good experiences with Heelers as a child and dont care for their dog and human aggresiveness.

If the puppies were raised to be social and they caught and locked down then I reckon they would work. I just wouldn't go out looking for that cross if I was in the market for a catchdog.

If they didnt work out as a catchdog they would most likley only be bay busters and lack any real bottum to make a long race.

i think the ozzies get good crosses from them because they crossing w/ less intense breeds like bullmastiff, boxer & english bullterrier. i think the higher drive in the heelers brings alot out in these dogs.
the only way to know if they'll be anygood is to try them.

My Old boxing coach used to have an uncle in Hawaii that used that cross for hogs. he said they would bayem up and catch them if the hog was samll enough, and then he would walk in with his one arm leading these two big ole pit crosses, I saw pics of them one and they were huge, not dogos but crosses made in hawaii. anyways they worked good for him, he didnt even use trailing dogs, I guess they trailed good for him, just real hot nosed which was good for him since he was older. I guess if they were gamey they would work fine, nothin you can do but tryem out.

I have a half Heeler half Austrailian Shepard ( Becky ) that I hunt all the time. She has saved my bacon more than once. We catch and tie, I weigh 300 lbs that means I can't climb very well to get away from a bad hog. Becky is like a buzzsaw on a hog, a hog gets after me and shes between me & it guranteed! She got cut pretty bad, this last November keeping a bad hog off my buddy that tripped him up & got him plum down. It would have been a bad deal I'm sure if Becky hadn't made the hog change his mind. Cause none of us had a gun. Becky hunts as good as most of the cur dogs I've been in woods with. I'm gonna breed her to my buddies American Bulldog when she comes in heat. In my opinion crossbred dogs make the best dogs, I've got a litter of Half Running Walker, 1/4 BMC,1/8 Ridge Back, 1/16 Pit , 1/32 Plott , 1/32 Mt. Cur pups on the way they ought to be dandies. Don't get me if you can get ahold of a purebred dog thats good but if can't cross bred dogs will do the trick! I have 3 registered Treeing Walkers, 3 Catahoulas that could be registered, one 1/2 Plott 1/2 Black Mouth Cur , one 1/2 BMC, 1/4 Ridge Back, 1/8 pit, 1/16 Plott, 1/16 Mt. Cur, one 1/2 heeler 1/2 Aussie , one Pitbull. Thats what I hog hunt.
