Buddy, just order the combo today online from ya. Can't wait for it to arive hopefully by the weekend.
My concern is where we hunt there is several times where the dogs may be on the other side of a steep ridge or mountain. Do you need line of sight to receive reception?
Anyone in WV have the birdseye view? How does it look?

I got the BirdsEye with mine and I wouldn't waste your time with it. You can only download 6 miles by 6 miles at a time at a decent resolution. The downloads take forever to complete, and they don't even end up matching up with the real maps. Roads disappear and reapper not lining up, the actual map roads are way off from the BirdsEye roads, it's a great idea, but the download things is what's killing it for me.

I like the birdseye, he is right the maps take forever to download and can get frustrating when they stop for unknown reasons. but you can download as many sections of map as you want and put them on your garmin until you run out of memory. the roads and rivers dont seem to be off much where i am at. i also have topo enabled, so it shows both on the screen and it looks good. as far as being on the otherside of a ridge, I wouldnt expect it to work better than the 220 on that issue. it does come with a longer antenna to get extended range. I was with someone who had a 220 and it did extend my range through thick brush.

I'll have to keep downloading more of them and see what I end up with! Doing them on the highest quality I only got 4 done at work today. I'm sure they'll be nice to have when I need them, just kind sucks the way you have to do it.

You'll need line of site for it, Should get it shipped out tomorrow, I was out in the shop all day working on collars so I didn't catch your order in time to Meet the shipping cut off, but it should get out tomorrow and you'll have it before the weekend.
I haven't made up my mind about the Bird's eye View yet. I have it, and It's neat I just don't know how much I'll use it Hunting the dogs.

Thanks Buddy, How has the new mod's been with the dc40's, I didnt catch that until after I ordered it.
As far as the Birdseye view, can you download the images to your computer first then transfer to your handheld? If so Buddy is there any way to get the garmin code for the birds eye via email and I can begin downloading the images prior to receiving the unit?

That's another thing that kind of makes it tricky...as far as I've found, the BirdsEye registered Garmin has to be plugged into the computer in order for it to download.
