What do you all reccomend who have wore or seen these boots. i live in MI so no mountains but lots snow and nasty thorns and swamp. im headed to CO for mountain lion hunt and plan on doing so for many yrs to come. spend alot of time in the woods chasing the hounds but have never decided to spend this kinda money on a boot until now. thanks for opinions Jim

I have a pair of Kenetreks and love them. I will tell you this though. You do not need to get insulated they will keep your feet plenty warm uninsulated. I have had mine for almost 3 years of some pretty tough hunting and they have held up extremely well. Really good ankle support, good aggressive sole and built to last.

Well I agree with ya"ll. I was hunting last week and we were many hours in the saddle and it was colder than a Mother In Law's heart. I had on a pair of Drew's Whites Cowboy Pacs. Not bad but heavier than a stock broker's heart on a bad day, but my hunting partner had on a pair of new Kennetrek Cowboy's and she kept saying my feet feel great and these are as comfortable as slippers. Thank goodness that ole Two Eyed Bartender gray horse got to pack me all day and I didn't have to walk any or I might have had to call Shorty to send the posse> LOL!

I have a pair of Kenetrex extreme 400gr. I bought them last November so they are a year old. I've sent the first pair back and got a replacement pair and have sent them in to the repair shop in Bozeman for them to glue the sole back on already and it's coming off already. Barring the piss poor glue they use to glue the two rubber peices of the sole together, the rest of the boot is top notch. My feet never get cold or wet, ankle support is great and they have more than sufficient traction for most anything. I just wish I could figure out a way to either stitch the soles on or screw them on somehow. I ride in them quite a bit and they fit a stirrup well if you keep in mind to ride on the ball of your foot and don't try to bury your foot in the stirrup because there isn't much of a heel. Seems like the older boots were built better than the newer ones in the last couple years.

And yes Amigo's you may have broke out in the chapparal of Tejas or on level ground but as my old Daddy always said. son be prepared for a wreck cus in the the Little Missouri Badlands they happended often and you best ride the ball of your foot cus if you set flat on your pockets and grin like a POSSUM EATING PERSIMMONS YOU ARE FIXING TO GET SCHOOLED!

I've got a pair of the uninsulated safari boots and really like them. They are pretty tough and work real good for bear hunting in WI during the summer. We'll see how they hold up after a couple years but I can't see any complaints yet.

If you can, I'd wait until the end of the year to pick up a pair. They usually have a discount and you can get them down in price.

Thanks guys just picked a pair of the ext 400 gram from local store. Was a pretty decent price from what I've seen online and local. They seem a little bit snug on sides but the guy assured me theyll stretch a little like any leather boot and that they are a more form fitting. Def more support then the redwing boots I'm used to wearing.

I have three pairs the 400 gram leather the non insultated hiker and a piar of the new guide boots. The 400 gram leather have been through three cat seasons still in great shape. I put at least 75 to 80 days in the snow with them. I got the new rubber coated ones for christmas last year they are more of a snow and water boot. The sole has deeper lugs and a little better grip. I am very happy with all of them. I haven't had any of them fall apart other than shoe laces.

just typed in kentrax in google not sure what site it was. i bought them at the local outdoor goods store. my first impression is def alot more support then the boots im used to. i got the 400 gram insulated. they were a little snug with the heavier wool socks but ive worn for two days around and seem to have loosened up just right. i think these boots are going to be great on trip to mountains for traction and support. seem to have real good traction. ill right a review when i get back. thanks

I believe that part of Our Country's economic woes are caused by online shopping. Mayb e not a big part, but it has changed things. I know that not everything can be bought local, but seems like more people have given in and just shop by computer nowdays which has shifted the direction money flows. I love my Kenetreck boots. I have three pairs, noninsulated Hardscrabbles, the Mountain Extremes in 400's and a pair of 1000's. They do provide a lot more support that most boots out there. When climbing a steep hill you almost get the affect of climbing a ladder. I get less calf fatigue with them and they really make a diff when you have a heavy pack on in ugly terrain.
