Does anyone have any idea what lion hides are worth in various stages Ie. Tanned. Rugged. Who besides the taxidermist are buying them? And does anyone have any interesting uses for them besides wall rugs, mounts, Floor or couch/bed.

I am having my lion I killed last year done into a shoulder mount, and the remainder of the hide, I will use it to make some possible pouches, and bags to put stuff in my back pack to keep it orgazied.

I would think the taxidermist market is your best bet. You can also check you taxidermy.net you might be able to sell on there. Other then that maybe get in touch with your states Trapping Assoc. and see if thet have any leads.

I've sold a fair share of hides in Idaho and never have did that good. Expect 350 for a big Tom and the females bring considerably less. That's for a green hide ready for a full body mount.

Those prices posted by Bear Hunter are for guys that don't know how or where to buy hides. Kind of like the inflated prices you see on certain websites just hoping someone will buy them. I buy lion hides every year for 100 for females and 300 would be high for a large Tom, these would be green hides. If anyone is interested in buying one for 800 or 900, just let me know, I'll sell you as many as you want to buy!

These prices are for tanned hides, of course they are going to be outragiouly high it cost a lot more than a green hide.
