It's like with all breeds and strains, there's good ones in many of them, but the biggest variable isn't the dog, it's the owner.

I have seen some bobcats in some trees that a cameron bred dog has trailed up there!!!

Blue ticks don't have what it takes to keep up with my dogs where i live!!

How are those Hi tans bred? I would be cautious, there are good dogs in all breeds. thanks Al Baldwin

there is 1/8blue tick in those dogs but the slowness have been breed out have no time for slow dogs

i would like to see how good they would do in three feet of powder snow at -20 with there boys dragging in the snow i bet you wouldnt be tootin that horn so loud and six dogs they could step on the cat if they spread out far enough but good job anyway a cat is always a good race and without that touch of bluetick in there they might not of caught that one

Those are some intelligent looking dogs. Wish I could say the same about their owner.

I have all six up so i could have a pic with them all at once :-) and im sure my I'd guys would not like to be in -20 weather i really have no problem with blue ticks everyone has there own preference on what breed they like its a long running joke with a buddy i hunt with that has all blue ticks

Mine aren't full cameron breeding but pretty heavy. Seem to do good for me, but still new to the game. I agree that all breeds/strains have good and bad, all it takes it time in the woods and see how they do.

You've got some really nice looking hounds especially the hi tan's bet they will flat put it on a cat ! What's their line best to best over the years ? Again, nice looking dogs...

To answer the original question.After what I,ve seen personally I would contact Cobalt about his dogs for cat,URE on here has a female from him,she's a dandy.He's put thought into a breeding program and is doing a nice job.
