Can you run dogs off bait in Idaho? I've read over the regulations and can't find anything against it in units that allow both?

Don't forget also that you need to buy a bait permit and they also have guidelines on placing a bait. The IDFW can help you with all of that. Good luck

I think a guy can do it during certain times in certain units with a hound hunters permit and a bait permit.

Idaho Bison, there are some areas where you can bait, run hounds and both. You need to sit down with a couple of beers or a cup of coffee and the regs and carefully review the units you are going to hunt and look at the restrictions involved. There are also motorized vehicle restrictions you must pay attention too. If there is a unit you can bait and run hounds in you must also look up the baiting restrictions which are plentiful. Just go over every rule with a fine comb if you want to enjoy the sport in a legitimate manner which can be a hassle but gives me peace of mind.

I have looked over it carefully but sometimes the regs don't have everything as there is legislation behind the regs.

Depending on your area the wardens in each area will interpret the law differently so just ask them. This has helped me gain some respect with them.
