Anyone ever tried making there own tuffskin

Just wondering if anyone has tried making there own 'tuffskin' antenna for there DC30/40s? I wouldn't think they'd be that hard to make on your own (especially if you aren't as slooow as me).
I need a few more and am looking for the 'cheap skate' way out.
Any tips, etc. would be great.
