whats the longest you have had to wait for a female to go into heat. I have a 13 month old that has not cycled once. I am starting to get some concern over this.

Our Plott female went 12 months and she came in and bled, well that is all she did for 4 weeks. We hade her spayed as soon as she was done. She had a softball size cyst on her ovary, which is rare. We are sad we spayed her because she is our lead dog! Call your vet.

Our bluetick was 18 months before her first cycle.. Nothing wrong with her.. In fact it is great.. Don't have to put her up every 6 months...

Some come in at 12 months old others at summer time and just about bear hunting time/ boy I hate that. But usuall if a gyp passes by 1 yr befor comeing in season she is only goen too come-in once annually when she does start her periods. Some closs line bred hounds get a out of cycle goen till they get their hormons balance out by 4 yres old/ not allways but when a dog keeps missing cycles or has faulse heat cycles not real ones.

she came in heat a about three weeks ago, sent her to my father-in laws and kept her in a stable until she came out.
