March 7 CA F&G Commission Meeting Update

I just finished watching the California Fish and Game Commission meeting being held in Riverside. By my tally, over the three hours of public comment, supporters of Commission President Richards outnumbered his detractors 55 to 5. The HSUS didn't even have the stones to send one of their minions. I think we have reached a turning point in this particular battle against the HSUS and we shall take the day. When HSUS California Senior State Director Jennifer Fearing, who usually never shies away from the spotlight, fails to show I see in their inaction the beginnings of a strategic withdrawl from this fight. If the California Legislature continues to move forward in trying to remove Richards I can foresee all forty who signed the letter asking for Richards resignation as looking for a new line of work when they all face their individual re-election bids. -Pete

What I find particularly disturbing about the Richards incident is that the same legislators who called for his resignation for participating in a legal hunt did nothing when their co-workers; 1) plead guilty to shop lifting 2)got arrested for D.U.I. 3)crashed a state owned vehicle while conducting personal business as well as numerous other illegal acts. I read several quotes from them regarding some of those incidents and all I heard were lame excuses and inaction. I understand most jobs involve some hypocrisy but our legislators have taken it to a whole new level.

Picked up a rumor on Jesseshunting forum that the HSUS asked its' members not to show because it would portray them negatively by publicizing the overwhelming support for Richards in the hunting community. Picking and choosing your battles is an intelligent strategy, it could also be a sign of cowardice and weakness. The battle will be won or lost in Sacramento. Make sure your legislator in you district didn't sign the letter. Call them today. Let them know that if they signed the letter and vote to oust Richards that you will vote to oust them in their next re-election bid regardless of their or your party affiliation. Action not words. -Pete

Hey Clint how's it going, met you up there when i was running with ebo and chad.

Glad you made it there to support the cause Peter.

Did anyone see the Dan Walters comment on our fine upstanding democrat legislators

Read the article here, very amusing and nailed it on the head: http://www.sacbee.com/2012/02/29/429889 ... %20Walters

I am afraid this isn't over yet due to a heavy democratic senate in California. What we are seeing in the states in General is the Democratization of democracy in America when 51% of the voters can dictate what the other 49% percent do. Its abuse of democracy that our country is letting happen. Citizens need to stop trying to control what their neighbors do with their own time.
