how do i get my dog on to cats? he is 6 months old and he doesnt show must interest in coons when he sees a barn cat he wants that more. and how do i get him to be vocal and everything this is my first hound and i really really wanna learn everything. his first coon he saw he wanted it bad and jumped on it and chewed on it but now he just seems to get bored way to fast. ill drag the coon for aways and put it in a tree and he runs to the tree and circles it about twice then just walks off. he isnt vocal at all but when he sees a barn cat he barks and barks and wants to run it but he just isnt vocal at all. any advice will help.

most dogs will get more vocal with age. you may have over done the drag thing and now he is bored with it. if you can hunt him with an older dog a few times or start turning some trainers loose in front of him and letting him get his mouth on some live game
