most counties in this state require dogs to be leashed or at least contained. But thess law is not enforced. If you have time check out the albuquerque paws law...

Mine are house dogs with a fenced yard, but they are tied in the yard if I am away from home for long without them. They will break out and go hunting if I'm not around.
They do go most everywhere with me as long as it isn't too hot or too cold for them to wait in the Jeep, and I don't tie them outside if the weather is stormy or extreme. One of mine is fine alone in the house, the other needs to be crated if alone in the house unsupervised.
The one who is fine in the house hides in a closet if its thundering! LOL I leave the closet door open for him. No, he isn't gunshy. Its the lightning not the thunder that scares him. Stupid mistake on my part--I took him to the 4th of July fireworks when he was a pup and he has never gotten over it!

If you want a dog to bark, put him on a chain or keep him locked up in a small kennel. I've done them all. Fence off the largest area you can and let them run together. It will take care of all the other problems you get with keeping them on a chain or in a tiny kennel: Sore feet when you hunt them, barking because they are bored, health issues because they aren't getting enough excersise and fighting. I put my dogs together 9 years ago and its been the best thing Iv'e ever done with them. I keep my dogs all together all the time in a one acre dog run. I have one large insulated dog box they all sleep in and stay much warmer then if they were by themselves. They are constantly running and playing all day long which keeps them stimulated and healthy. I've never had a dog to the vet in the past nine years since I started this and not a single fight.

We keep ours in a large kennel(concrete and chain link sides and roof with a huge log cabin dog house) when not home and in a huge fenced yard when we are home. It really promotes a good relations among everyone. We never have a fight and when we open up the boxes to hunt they know the order of things! Now we do keep them in the house at night in the uililty room. Two are lose and the youngest in a crate. All of our hounds are crate trained, just something we do. They also get an hour run a day and we try to coon in the off cat season as much as we can!

I have some kenneled and some on tie-outs. The kennels are nice as far as reducing parasites (and they just look better), but the tie-outs keep the dogs in better shape when not running. I plan on fencing a large area at some point, but we may be moving and don't want to invest in that until we decide. If we fence a large running area I will kennel all my dogs at that point.

I keep mine in kennels, and have a big fenced yard for them to run in when I am home.

I have a couple acres in the back yard that im going to fence in but i doubt the mutt pack will in a 4ft fence for too long while im gone. I will probably just keep em in the kennel while im at work, then let em run when i get home from work

i use to kep mine in a large kennel were they could all run around and play then i moved and now i keep them on chains i dont have a problem with them barking or anything i keep them close enough were they can touch noses so they play alittle bit but i run them pretty hard so usally they dont even come out of there barrles untill its time to go huntin. i have one dog that stays in the barrel she comes out when i feed and when i go huntin other then that she stays in the barrel she is a odd dog. i like chains better cuz if i want to take one dog it is easer for me to go up there and just unsnap them instead of trying to keep the other back why i try to get one out of the kennel. and i can keep a better eye on each dog i can see how they are eating if they have the runs and stuff like that. at mine house i live with 3 other guys 2 of them have hounds to so there are 10 hounds ans 2 other dogs on our property all of mine stay outside but my other buddy lets 4 of his inside so usally there are 6 dogs in side and 5 outside. i told him we need to even things out and get another dog so then we can have 6 inside and 6 outside. :D

My setup is very similar to FullCryHounds setup. It is on a hill and little over an acre. I had a little trouble with some of them getting out so I got one of those underground fence things so if they get too close they get a little zap. They stay in pretty good shape running up and down.
