Running Bobcat/Lion During Bear Season

The first day I hunted this Spring for bear the only strike was a little on the weak side, ended up being a day old small lion track. My dog couldn't get it lined out after two bout 100 yd circles so I continued on looking for the mostly dormant bear. I like the idea of a dog being able to run bear and shortail, while in bear mode.
What I'd like to know is y'all's experience dumping dogs on shortail during bear season. Thanks

Well I will agree to disagree on that one. I wasn't asking for legal advice, but wondering if anyone has run cats during bear season and how their dogs adjust. Thanks

The first sentance of the hound hunting section.
Dogs
Dogs may be used to pursue black bears or mountain lions in
either an open take season where use of dogs is allowed, or
during a dog training season open for bear or mountain lion.
I'm no lawyer, but if that says you can't, it is awefully grey. It does not specify what open season. It does say "black bears or mt. lions in an open take season." Not trying to pressure anyone into doing anything illegal, but if I'm bear hunting and get a strike, I'm turning my dogs loose.
With that being said, does anyone have an experience they would like to talk about when their dogs trashed on bobcats or lions during bear season. Mainly how your dogs ajusted to the different game. Thanks
