I was just curious if anyone out there has been running any English x Running dog crosses on cats? I have not seen anyone post on here about them if they are. I haven't been around to many English dogs ( 2 is all ), but I hear nothing but good about them and ive always had a liking for Red Ticked dogs. If you are running these kind of crossed up dogs or have in the past then please post your experiences with them good, bad, or ugly.

I owned a super nice Registered Swamp Rooster bred English Redtick. He was one of the best dogs I have ever owned. My only real complaint was he was not very fast. Average at best when you ran him with the rest of my pack. He had a nose like none other, would rig and cold trail an old track by sight until he could smell it, super grit, tough feet, and treed tons of bear by himself. I have seen a couple Trigg/Redtick crosses. I like them. I am actually adding another registered Redtick to my pack next spring.

I have been talking with a old cat hunter in texas that runs 1/2 running walker 1/2 english. He is trying to find the right female running walker for me to buy and send it up so i can cross her to a lightfoot male i have. So with a little luck i may be able to show you in a couple years. You dont live that far from me.

Yes he does very well with them in some tough country and a very dry climate. He has cat hunted around 60 yrs and he really likes what he has now. He can relay a pretty good hunt over the phone too. Ha ha
