I do have beagles and have run them and learned a pile about hounds from them over the past 30yrs. There are many beaglers in Oregon thanks in part to a great hound club outside of Corvallis called Mary's Peak Hound Club. Rabbit hunting with beagles is just a microcosm (miniature) of big or small game houndhunting. I bet there are a lot of hound guys on here who are or have been beaglers. It is true hound hunting.

Cobalt, I have had those little buggers all my life. Until coming here to Arizona. When you say it is true hounding you hit the nail right on the head. They will teach a man more by looking at the front end and actually seeing what an animal being chased does. And what it takes from a group of dogs to keep their track efficiently going. And also what dogs that you don't want any part of in a pack. Than any other aspect of hound hunting bar none!!

Take care, Willy
