Just curious what people think about the wildlife in burn areas

How long does it take for deer, elk, lions and bears to come back?

Do they care about the lack of cover and go for the new healthy green grass?

How long before you should hunt that area again?

I think it would depend somewhat on climate but there was good hunting in the the big burns pretty damn soon hereabouts and some very big deer taken around four years after.......within a short time they become a hunting destination and kinda ruin the effect.

Had hunters Booked for the fall deer and elk hunts. Fire burned 100,000 acres that summer. Deer and elk were in the burned ares eating the new forage coming up. It was a great year they all had black horns from rubbing the burnt trees shedding velvet. We were glassing a hillside one afternoon when the hunter says hey there are three bear walking along the ridge. It was three bull elk black from spending their days in the burn.
It has been some years now but the burned areas still have most of the critters using it.
