Time to move again

So I have been living in Wapiti, WY the last couple months. Thought I found a great little apartment just outside the national forest to set up residence and enjoy taking my hounds out close by. Well, that came to a screeching halt when I found out who my neighbors were. Talk about the scum of the earth. They are a bunch of drunken idiots that want to party all night and harrass my hounds in the kennel. Well, I complained to the landlord and warnings were given, but they kept it up. Last Saturday was the last straw. I work 6 days a week average 10 hours a day and 14 hours on Monday. I was just settling into bed at 10PM when all my neighbors decide to have a party in the apartment next to me. Music blasting coming through the wall and drunken idiots outside razzing the hounds. I decided that was it and marched outside and told them that some people had to work and would appreciate they kept it down. Their reply was "it's the weekend" I said, well some people have to work on the weekend. They turned the music down, but kept up with razzing the hounds in the kennel and being loud. The next morning I was so mad! I take my hounds to work with me everyday cause I do not trust my neighbors so I loaded them up and went to work. I informed my landlord that I was going to move out cause I cannot take the noise. He begged me to stay, and would deal with them, but I said I do not feel safe there and I worry about my dogs. I went home that night and I went to unload and feed my dogs and my kennel was gone! I looked around and those idiot neighbors moved it across the road! WTF??? I was fuming. I yelled a few choice words loud enough for them to hear. Today I moved my kennel and dogs to the lodge where I work. I am packing up my house and moving into a cabin at the lodge in the next day or two. I feel my dogs are safer there than here. I am going to have to put a top on the kennel as it is in an area where bears frequent and I wouldn't put it past my dogs to climb out if they got wind of one. I also think it would keep the wolves out if they come around. Still it sux to have to move again as I just moved over from Kaycee to start a new life here. I am curious if you guys would have taken the same approach if someone was messing with your hounds or moved your kennel when you were at work. As a woman I feel I made the right decision moving out of a place filled with deliquent drunken men than to put up with it one day longer. My dogs are the most important thing in my life and all I have. If someone ever hurt them I don't know what I would do, but I don't think it would end up well.

Life is too short to be putting up with that, I've worked long hours a fair bit of my life
And i like peace and quiet and the same for my dogs
No worries about a party next door once in a while but all the time
I'm lucky , my neighbours are retired and absolutely love my dogs.
Hope you find a quiet spot soon

Yes, you did the right thing Tessa. Sounds like a nicer place anyways.

I didn't sleep well last night cause those idiots kept walking by my window all night. I took my phone and my 357 to bed with me. Then I was worried cause I don't like being away from my dogs. I need to get a top on the kennel ASAP! They are now only 8 miles out of Yellowstone and I want to make sure they stay in and the wolves stay out! Boy, who knew moving to try to make a better life for yourself would be so stressful. I miss Kaycee and my Big Horn Mountains. :(

I thought when I saw this post that you are actually moving back to Kaycee. I think everybody could tell you really aren't happy up there.

Well good luck, Willy

I am terribly homesick for the Big Horns, but after struggling for the last 2 years to make a living, I had to go to where the work is. I am a chef and over here there was more oppertunity for me. I like the job I have and know that when the guest ranch season ends I can find work with one of the outfitters as a camp cook or be a chef in Cody. Hopefully I can save up enough money to last all winter so I can do some serious hunting. Guess we all have to make sacrifices to survive and mine was coming here. Just wish I hadn't had to deal with a bunch of idiots. Things should be better now that I am moving to the lodge and no rent so I win there ;)
