Had these break two weeks apart from each other. The first one broke right after a wreck happened damn near my front yard, so I figured it was just a fluke thing. Then yesterday another one was broke. So an better ideas I am all for checking out!

PS these snaps are about a year old but very little use. Maybe 200 hours of use.

There are alot of brass snaps out on the market. Make sure and find the ones that are built stouter I get mine from tractor supply and they are built alot better than alot on the market. Also if you go to the bull snap you will not have a problem but not very handy to un snap. Andy

Some bull snaps have a thumb or whatever you call it making them easier to snap unsnap.

This about the only one I trust to use, you have to keep up with it because the swivel will wear out

I mainly use bulldog chain set ups with a ring on the chain that I run a 2" nylon collar through. They are fail safe, I also use old truck axles as anchoring pin for the chain.

Same problem...I bought some cheaper ones online and they were absolute junk. I gave the leashes to family and a few friends and they're all snapping, especially in the cold. I'll be visiting tractor supply soon to get some better ones!!

I like that setup. I've been using truck axles for years best tie out stake you can use!

I found the Mangamese Bronze snaps today. They are the same size as the ones you broke, just a lot stronger. I've never had a problem with these and have used them on some big hounds. There is one snap stronger and it's stainless, also the same size. The next size up is 4 1/2" long and has a eye of 1 1/8 it would be fine for a tie out snap. RS
