Hey guys, this is a night we had last week. We wanted to show a guy how his dog had progressed so we took him on a quick coon hunt. Needless to say the guy was very impressed.

I didn't know there was a kill season open right now. Are you a dog trainer or something? Looks like you had a good time.

Theres alot you don't know. You're a jackass. The best thing buckshot ever did was ban you from his site. To bad buddy has so much compassion for water heads.

Stormy Ridge - I don't know how you coon population is but I don't think I'd be killing six in a night  , you do that every night for a while in any population , soon you won't have any left!!!

NWKemDawg, We have a lot of coons down here. Last year in the summer we were averaging 10 to 20 coons in a night. Most of the farmers have problems with them so they kinda like them gone. We prefer chasing lion and bear so we kinda use our raccons to start and train dogs during the off time.

for the last 3 years we have trapped at least 400 coons, and I have two friends that catch over 125 with dogs and our pop. is hanging right in there. if we don't take that many they will disease up with something.

like our doe ratio about 30 -to 1.

Ya Ark. Frog I agree. In South Texas we are over run with them. They do very good here because they feed off all the deer feeders. I kill every one I tree. It's nothing to have multiple coons in a tree. Not only that if land owners know your dogs are deer broke they beg you to come kill coons on there place. However, when I lived in southern california they population was very delicate. Most the time we left them in the tree unless we had a pup that really needed a kill.

We had a pretty big population about 10 years ago here in NW WI. Distemper has moved through here a couple times and there wasn't anything around until about the last 2 years. I won't do much hide hunting for a couple years yet but the population is slowly growing.
