Livestock killed; wolves to be destroyed

BUTTE (AP) — State officials say six more wolves from the Hall area will be destroyed, after several confirmed wolf attacks on livestock.

Hall is about six miles south of Drummond.

The Willow Creek Pack is believed to be responsible for the attacks. It’s been living primarily on private land through the winter and spring, and has been found near livestock operations.

Two wolves were removed from the pack earlier this month in response to a confirmed livestock attack on April 15.

Wildlife managers say the pack’s collared alpha male and female, and pups, will not be removed.

Sounds like a good plan. They're spreading like wild fire here in WI and hope they put in a hunting season sometime in the next 10 years.
