Hi Jimmylee,

I noticed you viewed the other posts concerning the breed so no need to answer the other questions.In response to the history:

In the mid 19th Centuary the almost extict Virelade hound was crossed with the Grand Bleu from the kennels of Baron de Ruble.The result was so favourable that the breeding was continued in order to create the Gascon-Saintongeois.

There is also info on the net if you Google e.t.c - Gascon-Saintongeois.

Hey Gavin, hows your Little Critters Growing ?? Please Send some Pic's their have been a few Inquiries But Mostly ???s about your Pups.
My Brother and Sister in Law are headed to South Africa on Aug 20th.. 2 weeks All Antelope hunt (20) Head .. Their Outfitter also runs Hound Leopard hunts , They were telling me that the "Hound Fee" alone was $4,000 US before the $15,000 Leopard Fee.

Which outfitter are they hunting with?

How is your breeding doing - manage to get the Grand Bleu stud?

I'l let you know which Outfitter their using..

Breeding is Going Well, I have 10 pups heading out next Week so I'l have a few trips to the Airport.. The Grand Blu is in the Works.. But the GGS will be next somehow.. When are you headed back to the South End of Africa ?

Hi Steve,

Had a look at the site briefly - saw a single pic with some hounds.
It looks like the dogs common to the eastern cape hunters - foxhound crosses.Perhaps Roy Sparks or Nico Lowrance.

Hey Gavin , this is the E-Mail I recievied this Morn..

Steve,

We have finished our safari, have shot 21 animals. Hope everything is fine.

Our flight should arrive in Dulles about 11 AM so we'll be home around 3 PM on Wednesday.

We are leaving here about 8 AM tomorrow which is 2 AM your time so don't reply.

Jill shot a giant bull oryx and a giant bull kudu and a giant bull blue wildebeest. Not to mention Jill's super record book mountain reedbuck!

Lance shot some nice animals too. (a couple nice pigs)

Thanks for looking after things for us.



I would Hate to see their Fright Bill for all the critters !! I gess we'l be Mounting Antelope for the next year.. We'l start ordering Forms next week

As soon as they get back I'l post some pic's
