SVTR first cat of the year

Post by inchtowntracking »

We caught this one tonight, cats where really moving tonght. We had a light snow the night before but still figured we would give it a try and see what we could see. The first one we ran ended on rock cliff and ended having to go up and get the dogs off. So we headed up the road and found this good size track that still looked decent. Went up the road till we found where it had cut off the road. Tossed the dogs out they worked it for awhile and got hung up where the cat was crossing from log to log. After we rounded them up and showed them the track they took right off again. Ended up hitting the road again and flew up it, I didnt trust them and went to go investigate. Sure enough we get up to where the cut off the road and you could here them treeing about fifty yrds off. Walked into the tree and there was the cat. Ended up being a 30 lber, sure was proud o the dogs after that one. Dogs used was a Finley River dog from catdog360 that I bought as a pup two yrs ago. Second was a nance bred dog that I got from Piglet on here. These two dogs work really good together always seem to pick up where the other one looses an they just feed off of each other.

Ran another last night track looked just as big. Dogs ended up treeing in a thick pack of trees and wasn't able to spot anything in the mess.
