John C Clay, you need to tell us about your last trip to Fla. How did it go?

Mr. Robert,

Sure enjoyed the story of your Cat Race.

I have been busy with Holiday doings with the daughter, traveling with Mom, and dealing with Dad since we got back from FL.

Had Ted Smith from OK with us....usually company can be a jinx,Ted however was as good as a Rabbits foot!

The short version (Stories and video to follow soon) is that on 9 hunts over 12 days we caught (killed)3, treed or holed 9 more. Had one evaporate after an hours race (Cat got into deep water resulting in bad loose, then slipped out on dry rock road).

Races laste from 15 min to 3 hours in length. We saw all but three of the Cats we ran, which in that thick country is sure getting lucky.....course the Garmins help a lot with having you in the right place!

One of the races ranks in the top 5 alltime for Dad. Race was never more than 200 yds from truck, saw the Cat many times, all Pups not only participated but contributed.

North Fl. Bobcats are getting smart (bad) about going into the slash piles the Logging Companies are leaving. This not a bad thing as most give you a good race before reaching the sancutary of a hole.....a Dead Cat leaves very few new tracks.
