Been working my cat dogs on coons in the swamp behind my property. I was wondering if there was a better time if night to run them. Just curious what prime hunting conditions would be I regards to time and weather as well. Would like some coon hunter perspective. Thanks

The later we run the better chance we have of get more coons up one tree. As far as conditions go I have run in quite a few from snow to rain. And i haven't really seen a difference. For me i think it comes down to location and how the coons move in your area. I've used are deer cam to get a basic idea how they move in my area.
Hope this helped,
Mitch

shoot any time you can get out to hunt coon is better than watching Dave Letterman!..
that being said---
coon often run around dark, then seem to stop for a while-- then a period starts around 3-4 in the morning and they often run up into the daylight hours...but the moon phase has a defnate
influence to their activities.. times will change with the time of the month....
a good trail cam over a Feeder will tell you the best times, ---- surely someone has a pile of corn out for deer there.
