obligation not fulfilled

I sold dog. Got chunk of cash but he owed more but i was nice and said he could pay me by the end of a certain season. if i do not get wats owed to me should i give him his money back that he gave me for the dog as his dwn payment or do u think he pretty much rented the dog for 3 months. Were talkn a finished hound. I want to do wats right. Any thoughts.

Down payment is nonrefundable.

Sounds like you got used. He probably only needed it for that season. I would of had the dog back at my place already ..With no return of down payment...

If you haven't got it back, invest in a little gas money and re-posess it!
