We have been having a great time running bobcats this winter. Not many tags issued in wisconsin this year so its been pretty much all just get young dogs crankin cats down. And have been pleased with the pups out of the past litter, only having a couple cats get away so far. We finally found two tags to come out saturday, We put down on the first cat which ran into some really nasty blowdown, but they managed to screw him down in it and held it there until I got the shooter in to take the cat. Our buddy started cold trailing a cat earlier that morning with his 2 year old female, by the time we got there he was still coldtrailing. Took pretty much all day and around 10 miles according to the garmin of coldtrailing but she finally jumped it my brother packed in his year and a half old female in and the screwed the cat down in no time. That cat ended up weighing 43lbs Lots of fun, great dog work.

Nice job. Don/t knom anyone in this area who used plotts fot bobcats, never hunted with a plot on cats. Good to hear about plotts doing well on bobs. As I always say good ones in all breeds and anyone who thinks different just has lived long enough. Thanks Al

Nice looking cats! how is the snow up by you guys? It got pretty crusted up down here on the southern part of the county. Monday it was pretty good in the morning but by the time we caught our second yote it was getting cold enough that there was about a one inch crust....Stinks bad! lol

Couple of videos from some cats this weekend. About a week ago we had a pretty good crust going but we got probally 6 inches of good stuff on top of that so the snow is really good for catching right now, After the jump most races are lasting maybe 10 min before they screw them down. Still good training for coldtrailing but I like the longer jump races for workin the puppies. The first video is my 5 month old female from this years litter out of Flambeau River Gretchen and Collars Smokey on her first cat. So much fun watchin young dogs light up.
