how to stop chain from getting wound up!

I normally keep the dogs in kennels so I just havent dealt with it much. But I ran out of room and have one on the chain and I've got to unwind her every other day. If I have to deal with it I will but when I come home in a rain storm and she cant get to her box because her chain is wound so short that she cant reach, well theres gotta be something I can do. Any helps good help. Thanks in advance.

put a swivel in the middle

I have a swivel on both ends and do not have that problem

some hounds are really good at tangling themselves up! try putting a different hound out on the chain. some are much smarter than others about untangling themselves...
