Just wondering how many of you have that one neighbor that's acres away yet still complains about a bark now and then? This neighbor has had animal control at my place a couple different times which benefited me, got myself an exemption in our county on the legal number of dogs because they are working dogs. She then filed a complaint to the DA office which was thrown out. Haven't heard anything for awhile until today, another neighbor brought me a letter which she ( the neighbor) has sent to all the neighbor in the area. Mind you we all live on 5+ acres and everybody has critters, horses, goats, donkeys, chickens etc.. She states in this letter that I'm mistreating my hounds, they bark all day everyday, I'm breaking the law having this many dogs, I'm not a nice person and I've threatened retaliation against people who complain. Now, I have bark collars, my dogs are damn good in the pen. They do bark when I hit my gravel driveway after work until my truck shuts off. The bark collars are on some young dummies that still don't get it yet! My older dogs do not make a peep with out collars except the above mentioned. Called the sheriffs to inform them of this letter and they documented it for the record. I'm putting up a couple cameras in my lot area because I've had dogs turned out of the pen and had bark collars disappear. My dogs don't have thumbs so I know it wasn't one of them. This lady has had issues with other neighbors and just retired 6 months ago from the post office, has nothing better to do. Just wanted to see what kind of BS you guys might have gone through to own your hounds. Thanks Jason.

Ive got a bad one. he moved into the area and built his huge house way up on the hill(which allows him to hear everything) and complains about my hounds. he has threatened to shoot them and made up lies about nonexistant ordinances. He even tried to tell me that the fine for killing someones dog was 500 bucks and that it would be worth it. i talked t the sheriffs office and they laughed when i said he lives a half mile away. they told me i can have my dogs and if he shoots them it will be criminal trespassing and animal cruelty. he is a total a hole but in my case there isnt anything he can really do about it. if there is ever a global economic crash he may want to leave the area:) i feel your pain

I had a neighbor who was a former cop turned attorney who complained about every dog in the neighborhood. He complained about my dogs before I even moved in. When he cut his grass, he dumped the clippings into a blind woman's yard. He was famous for having his cop buddies over for (illegal) bonfires then dumping the ashes in my yard. I ended up barely using the dog run I had built for the dog(s) while I was at work. Was always worried he'd poison my dogs. I've moved but would dance on his grave if i found out he was dead.

The house my dad lives in now was my grampas old house. About 30 yrs ago one of the neighbers was complaining about the dogs barking. My grampa took his worst dog over to the guys house and said , is this the dog that has been barking. The guy said yes it is him. My grampa pulled out his pistol and shot the dog right in front of him. Not long after the guy was complaining again. My grampa went over to his house pulled out his pistol and shot the guy. No one has complained about the dogs barking since. My grampa only spent 6 yrs in prison. True story.

I'm really thinkin your grandpa had the right idea, nowadays your probably lookin at an extra 10yrs for animal cruelty tho. What's 16yrs, my dogs will still be barking while they waite for me! These people have nothing better to do so there is no compromise. I think I'm gonna make it interesting, pretty sure they have a cat!

Im liking how ur thinkn now. Find out if they drink adult beverages,and if they do call in their license number every time they leave the house as a drunk driver.

We have some people that moved in from a gated community that called the cops on the last hound I had 2 weeks after he got killed. Now I have two duncan pups and I named them Wayne and Shelly (the neighbors names) so every time they scream about the dogs I just start screamin at "wayne and shelley".

I have a couple neighbors like this and wouldn't you know they are the only 2 neighbors that don't work. Both are out of staters one is cali and the other is vegas. The best thing to do is just ignore them, it will get the better of them and won't stress you out.
