Howdy From Western Oregon

Howdy, just got into hound hunting, been used to the upland bird dogs, so its somewhat a relief my Blue pup aint running all over the place chasing birds, and he sleeps soo often i aint used to it, lol.
Plan to hunt mostly the coast range for whatever i find, lol, hell maybe i'll get me a deer or the elusive sasquatch this year, lol.

I dont suppose there are any folks with hounds close to me that wouldnt mind taking me hunting?
Reason i ask is I need to get my pup some real world experience and although he works well with the e-collar obiedience I dont crawl well in the underbrush, and he wont stray more than 25ft from me, So im hoping to get him to enjoy being off lead and hunting more with another older well-trained hound.

OUSDA is Oregon United Sporting Dog Asscoiation.
There is a Field Trial in Prineville this weekend, Try and make it over there, It's definately not like getting out in the woods and hunting but it's normally a good time.

well I'll have to see how the job hunt goes Buddy, my fuel money is running out and Prineville is a ways off from Tualatin, lol.
What do they "hunt" at them field trails?
Trying to find something to hunt till winter, lol, So far from what ODFW told me i can hunt Coyote, Hog, Nutria (lol), Rabbit, till winter rolls around and i can run Bob, Coon, and fox.
And i dont want to try and tree a Nutria, and the only place to hunt rabbits I know of has alot of snakes this time of year, Im trying to find some hog hunting, but I dont have much of a pack (1 pup), so That leaves me with yote, lol

If you have a hound that can tree nutria i want a video lol welcome to the site. There are some good people on here. Nad the ousda is a great group of guys gals and kids.
