hi, I am just getting started in hound hunting. all my friends who own hounds and I hunt are lion, lynx, bobcat, and bears... lots of bears!! Some houndsmen say blueticks are too slow and/or too coldnosed for bears. I have been doing a lot of research and was wondering if anyone out there is running blue ticks from crazy cascade blue ticks and if so are you running them on bears in particular? how are they doing and if someone could please tell me why blueticks have a reputation for being slow? Any help is appreciated and any references would be great thanks!!!

I don't know anything about crazy cascade blue dogs of any thing about gascons , but as far as a blue tick goes not a gascon but a normal blue dog is one of the fastest bear dogs I've seen . Very gritty along with a red tick like a English dog does good on bear if u get from the right lines . But I here the gascons like u are talking about above is very gritty , very cold nose and pretty fast!

I know ill get put down when I say this but if I was going to buy a redtick /English blue tick , I'd go with :
John rays
Anything from buck snot kennels
And saddle mountain

But I'd go with a dog out of bucnksnot kennel moose dog , when he has a litter . He has 300+ videos of his dogs proving there selfs From lion to bear to bobcat

There are fast blueticks and slow ones. I had 2 Cameron's that were both slow and a smokey river that was prolly one of the fastest dogs I have had.
