silent trailing goood or bad?

Got a opputunity to get a 2 yr old walker female. shes a silent trailer and striker.. but barks are the tree. I been doing some reading and what I see that she will jump the coon/cat and they may tree very soon cause the dog is right there.. whats ur take on this slient tailing.. oh he did say she never ran with other dogs. could she learn to bark on trail?

She is young some dogs bark more as they get older. I would not ever let her get to game if you want her to bark. Keep her tied back at the tree and turn her lose behind the other dogs.If you hunt for hides and or the kill just hunt her. Dewey

I was just thinking, I watched a cat hunting dvd today and ted Reynolds put a silent trailer on a cat track. hmmm I don't have a walker yet.... oh I got the itch..

If you hunt for sport it's bad . I wouldn't even consider hunting a silent dig and contrary to what some think you don't need a silent hound to catch cat with.But to each his own.

it gives the dog an advantage ,but at the same time doesnt guarantee that it will be a good bobcat dog.there is alot more to a bobcat dog than some silent tracking.if it makes you happy thats all that counts your paying the feed bill.

I sure don't mind a dog that is mostly silent. Makes for a lot shorter walks and on these hill sides that's a good thing

As long as you can locate the dog once its treed then its all good.
