Going to see what the redtick can do tomorrow eve. A buddy and his cousin are joining me with a young walker..Cant wait!! I got a fresh killed coon and teased the hounds and let the redtick go, took it to the tree and gave her hell!!! I recorded it on my cell and its my ring tone now :D .. I have a question. Up the road is a fellow I known for all my 33 yrs, hes a great houndsman/trapper/outdoorsman.. he has gotten a lil woods queer, I mean possive of the whole area.. I don't want to step on his toes and I want to learn from him. These woods are my backyard too. How would you go by asking him? I am gonna ask my dad too. he known him for 50 yrs.. thanks and wish me luck.

Tell him you will only run coon, not touch any other game by any means ! I've gained respect on my whole mountain about 100 people live on it and they will call the game warden or cop on the first truck they don't know . The way I got respect is I asked permission , told them what I was doing , told them I'd keep there property the way I found it and I would treat it like my on! And told them I wouldn't touch any of there deer and stuff . Most importantly don't tear up the roads in your truck or atv .

if he is that way you will not gain very much other than the fact that he owns the woods and every game animal in it. do it on your own follow the laws ,try being selective on harvest . it is hard starting out not wanting to shoot everything there is .that will gain you respect from other houndsman . keep your hunting information to yourself as much as possible , because that fuels the fires of jealousy. people like him get jealous and want to trip you up.if you have good dogs they will show you what you need to know and learn. after awhile he will just have to accept the fact or not.you have just as much right to be out there period.unless he got some special liscense i dont know about.lol
